In an a very interesting turn of events, the voice of the BJJ social media world has spoken, and Matheus Diniz of Marcelo Garcia Jiu-Jitsu Academy in New York, will be facing off against Vinny Magalhaes for a grand prize of $10,000. The real crazy thing about this decision though, is that Matheus is actually a brown belt. I have nothing against Matheus, and I congratulate him for receiving such overwhelming support, but is a brown belt ready to face off in the main event of a premiere Jiu-Jitsu championship league? Are we just giving $10,000 dollars to Vinny?
What about the requirement?
I know that Vinny Magalhaes says he will fight ANYONE, ANY WEIGHT, but what about the clearly stated requirement of being “At least Black Belt in BJJ”.
That’s crazy!
